Many pizzerias in Stockholm have created their own spin on the traditional Italian pizza, resulting in a delightful Swedish-Italian fusion. Below, we’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite spots that we think you’ll love if pizza is your thing. Here goes, in no particular order.

Meno Male

The menu offers a mix of traditional and innovative toppings, with the interesting twist that they also give you the option to compose your own pizza.

dell’Attore

A charming restaurant offering Roman-style “scrocchiarella” pizzas. These pizzas have very brittle edges, and a base of very thin, crunchy dough that melts in your mouth.

Toppings are a mix of traditional and more modern take of the Roman style pizza.

The movie themed interiors give the restaurant a unique personality, and since it’s both small and popular we recommend booking a table in advance.

Omnipollos Hatt

A popular place for beer and pizza lovers alike. This cozy bar serves up pizzas with creative and delicious toppings which you’ll probably not find anywhere else.

Its small, intimate setting and no-reservations policy mean it fills up fast. Arrive early for pizza, or just swing by for a beer or two and mingle with the locals.

From the beer to the pizza and the quirky atmosphere, this place is uniquely delightful with a Södermalm district bohemian vibe.

450 Gradi

Some say they pioneered the Neapolitan-style pizza in Stockholm; 450 Gradi are baking their pizzas at a traditional 450 degrees Celsius in a wood-fired oven, hence their name.

Located on the island of Lidingö, this spot may seem a bit off the beaten path, but for pizza enthusiasts, it’s a destination worth visiting. Lidingö is easily accessible from central Stockholm via a bridge, with options for travel by local transportation on land or by boat.

450 Gradi prides itself on using the finest ingredients. The commitment to authenticity and flavor, and regular trips to Italy inspire their menu and refine their skills, ensures that every pizza is a delicious representation of true Neapolitan tradition.

La Piccola Nonna

With a mission to provide delicious, reasonably priced vegan and vegetarian pizzas in Stockholm, La Piccola Nonna does not disappoint on both accounts.

Founded by two friends, their journey began with a passion for vegan food and pizza, initially selling pizzas from a bicycle cart, which evolved into a moped-car and eventually a brick-and-mortar location.

Offers a selection of pizzas, including the classic Marinara and Margherita, as well as unique creations like the Nduja with vegan nduja, or their white pizzas, Le Bianche, feature combinations such as the Patata with potato and tomato pesto.

Deglabbet

Founded by a group of friends that loved to geek out about trying to make the perfect pizza dough. Hence the name that translates to “The Dough Lab,” reflecting their focus on their quest for perfection.

They offer a variety of pizzas, from classic Margherita to more typical Swedish styles like the Kebab pizza or more inventive options, inspired by Swedish traditional cuisine, like the white pizza Tångromsdröm (Seaweed Dream).

If you’re wondering, the dough is amazing. But don’t take our word for it, we recommend giving it a try. Deglabbet has three locations in Stockholm.

Giro

Located in the heart of Stockholm, next to the stylish Miss Clara Hotel, Giro offers an upscale yet cozy environment perfect for enjoying authentic Neapolitan-style pizzas and a curated selection of Italian wines. The restaurant’s menu features a variety of options, from traditional pizzas like the vegan Marinara with organic tomato sauce and garlic, and the classic Margherita with Fior di Latte and Parmigiano Reggiano, to more unique offerings. These include the Bufala DOP with buffalo mozzarella, the Prosciutto with cooked ham, and the Norrland topped with crème fraîche and roe.

Vegetarian choices are equally enticing, featuring the Siciliana with smoked mozzarella and aubergine, and the Capri with chèvre, walnuts, and honey. Many ingredients at Giro are DOP-certified, which means they are sourced directly from specific regions in Italy, guaranteeing authenticity and high quality.

800 Grader

The name translates to “800 degrees” and is borrowed from a song by the Swedish punk band Ebba Grön. This popular pizzeria has two locations in Stockholm: one in Vasastan district and another in Södermalm district. The Vasastan venue, at Sigtunagatan 17, has a relaxed, bohemian atmosphere, and is in its way charming with interiors somewhat reminiscent of a Swedish youth center. This location focuses on serving traditional Neapolitan pizzas.

In contrast, the Södermalm location draws inspiration from New York style pizza slice shops, offering thick and filling slices. Here, you can mix and match different slices or opt for a full pizza if you’re particularly hungry. The slices are crispy and designed to be eaten with your hands, adding to the casual and fun dining experience. With its welcoming vibe and shared tables, the Södermalm spot is perfect for both a quick bite and a leisurely meal.

Both locations are relatively small but have a warm, inviting atmosphere. Whether you’re in the mood for a traditional Neapolitan pie or a hearty slice, 800 Grader offers a delightful pizza experience in Stockholm.

Bistro Bananas

Located in the lively Södermalm district, Bistro Bananas serves wood-fired pizzas amidst an eclectic menu. The restaurant is set in a colorful venue at the Södermalm district’s flatiron building, with neon lights interiors, but has a relaxed, atmosphere perfect for casual dining. During the summer months there’s also outdoor seating, ideal for enjoying a drink and people-watching.

Their pizza menu includes classics like Marinara and Margarita, as well as inventive options like Lou Marini with buffalo mozzarella and gorgonzola, and Portabello with truffle oil. In addition to pizzas, Bistro Bananas offers sandwiches, smaller dishes, and main courses such as grilled mackerel and veal entrecôte. A nice place to relax, have a drink, and hang out with friends like one of the locals.

Savoj

Located in the charming Vasastan district of Stockholm, Savoj is the first restaurant venture by brothers Jonathan and Andreas. Known for its Tokyo and Naples-inspired pizzas, Savoj combines a relaxed, homely atmosphere with a creative menu. Highlights include the Pesto & Burrata, Salame & Rucola, and the crowd-favorite kebab pizza (the latter only available on Sundays).

The restaurant’s cozy decor, featuring art created by friends, enhances the welcoming vibe, making it perfect for both family dinners and casual hangouts. Savoj’s commitment to quality is evident and speaks for itself by its popularity by the locals.
